Taking decisive action against the impact of Covid-19, WhisperPower modified its 2020 in-house distributor meeting schedule to offer a webinar in November instead. This was timed to coincide with the date normally reserved for the hugely popular METSTRADE Expo in Amsterdam. The WhisperPower team moved its usual demonstrations, 'meet and greet' and product updates online instead.
Hosting the webinar and subsequent training session, was owner-manager Roel ter Heide, assisted by the head of R&D Martijn Favot, International Sales Manager Johannes Doornbosch and E-commerce Manager Leon Strikwerda.
This 'Virtual METS Stand' webinar attracted an audience of over 60 distributors and VIP customers from 40 different countries, with some excellent feedback on the products and strategies reviewed. Logging in via Microsoft Teams, delegates were treated to real-time updates of the company's direction, announcements of new appointments, and tours of the latest new products. These included a close look at the OctoPower 3 system, the new Supreme Pro models, the ION Power Plus batteries and brief overviews of a total of 15 new products and upgrades launched this year. The webinar also covered the ambitious online training programme launched in November 2020, news of the company's expansion with additional regional offices and gave details of improving the reach of its YouTube videos via WhisperTV.
Summarising the success of the online expo, Roel ter Heide said "We've been living with Covid since early 2020, although now there seems to be a possible end in sight. With all the major leisure and trade shows cancelled, and rightly so, we have developed our own style of webinar presentations. Despite the pandemic, it has been a good year for WhisperPower, and the webinar feedback from our expanding global network suggests a great deal of optimism for the post-Covid landscape. Next year will see major product innovation as we address the growing importance of reliable, off-grid power products”.
